Often, when I wake up before dawn, I believe that I exist as something else. Usually inanimate. I am my bed. I am my pillow. I am the cup of water sitting on my nightstand.
Luckily, I fall back asleep before there is reason for too much alarm. No one wants to be a cup forever.
